The artist
Ned Kahn's exploration of the confluence of art and science results
in elegant and compelling works that engage natural elements including
wind, fog, water, light, and sand. In Pittsburgh, Articulated
Cloud is a mesmerizing wind sculpture integrated into the
architecture of the Children's
Museum of Pittsburgh. During the day, tens of thousands of
small panels shift in the breeze, reflecting light and shadows.
At night, the work is lit from within, creating a lantern in the
park. Inside the museum, other works of art created by Ned Kahn
fascinate and delight the viewers that interact with them.
The Children's
Museum of Pittsburgh and the Office of Public Art are co-presenting
a lecture by the artist Ned Kahn at The
New Hazlett Theater on Thursday, July 19th from 5:30 - 7:00
PM. Ned Kahn will discuss his artistic practice, with a focus
on works he has required and seating is limited. For tickets,
