The Arts Extension Service (AES) was AES was originally created to extend the cultural and educational resources of the University to stimulate cultural activity across Massachusetts.
ArtsLynx is designed as a portal to the best information on the arts available on the web.
ArtsMarketing.org has online arts marketing information.
Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management (Robert Morris University) provides workshops, classes and a listserv aimed to provide the necessary tools for nonprofit organizations to effectively manage and compete in today's society.
Boards-by-Design (Nonprofit Leadership Institute, see below)- a board matching program that works with individuals who are interested in serving on a nonprofit board and nonprofit organizations that are looking for new board members or are looking for board and/or committee members.
BoardSource increases the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations by strengthening boards of directors through a highly acclaimed consulting practice, publications, tools and membership program. This website has multiple free resources for nonprofits seeking to develop a board of directors, or for young professionals seeking to join a board.
Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council provides professional development workshops, pro bono consulting services, email blasts with weekly event, and grant programs for artists, arts organizations and arts managers.
The Institute for the Management of Creative Enterprises is a joint program of the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University and the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management.

The site is a service of EcoScribe Communications, based in Lexington, North Carolina. In addition to webinars and e-classes, the site has a library of articles and resources on a variety of nonprofit marketing topics, from online marketing to media relations and from graphic design to nonprofit storytelling.
Nonprofit Leadership Institute (Duquesne University) provides training, consulting, board-matching and other resources to support arts managers.
The mission of Poets & Writers is to foster the professional development of poets and writers, to promote communication throughout the U.S. literary community, and to help create an environment in which literature can be appreciated by the widest possible public.
The Soul Pitt is a community web site that focuses on the Soulful side of the city of Pittsburgh, PA! We are here to showcase the positive and unique things going on in our city for all to enjoy. With our main focus on the African-American community, we also showcase the Latino Community as well.
Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation Director/Choreographer Observerships offers young, early-career directors and choreographers the opportunity to observe the work of master directors and choreographers as they create new productions on Broadway, off-Broadway and at leading regional theatres, primarily in New York, Seattle, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Observers often have access to the entire rehearsal process, from first rehearsal to opening night, and receive stipends of $250-$1,000.
Sundance Theatre Laboratory is a three-week long workshop offering playwrights, directors, choreographers, composers, solo performers, and ensembles the time, space and support to develop new plays and musicals or to explore new approaches to existing scripts.
